About this Event
Presented by Lauren Kenworthy, PhD
Lauren Kenworthy, PhD, is a professor of neurology, pediatrics, and psychiatry at the George Washington University School of Medicine and chief of neuropsychology and autism at Children’s National Medical Center.
About the Event
Executive function problems are common. They are a transdiagnostic predictor of psychiatric conditions, as well as academic, vocational, social and quality of life outcomes. Unstuck and On Target is an evidence-based executive function intervention that builds executive function organization, planning, and flexibility skills. It is a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming cognitive behavioral treatment that can be delivered with good fidelity in schools by educators without specialized training.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize executive functioning challenges and distinguish them from volitional behaviors
- Identify specific accommodations to support executive functioning
- Learn specific vocabulary and routines, and when to use them, to teach executive function skills
