IMMERSION- 7 Day Sword and Fusion Dance Intensive with Belladonna

Join Belladonna for a full week of Boho immersion and perform at the Boho Blade Ball in person!

Belladonna is very excited to invite you to join her in her hometown of Washington DC for a full week of dance training, strength and stability practice, sword study, group improvisation, performance preparation and a photo shoot! Dancers will also recieve a gift bag featuring comemerative Boho merchandise created especially for this event!

We will begin on Monday morning, August 12th, 2024.

Each day will begin with a movement and meditation practice followed by a Bohemian Belly Dance signature class. Class time will be spent on dance technique (BATS and Fusion Fragments), Sword study (Boho Blade technique), choreography, group improvisation and performance preparation.

BATS- Boho Articulate Travel & Synchronize! BATS technique layers feet, hips and upper body in movements used in solo improv, choreography and group improvisation.

Fusion Fragments- Are fierce and flirty mini choreographies that included technical dance layers, traveling steps and are lots of fun! Fragments can be used by individuals and in group improvisation.

Boho Blade- A sword movement format that focuses on Powerful Purposeful Presentation in our held and balanced cutting edge sword system.

Choreography- A dance created to accompany a specific piece of music. This will be a single or double sword choreography

Group Improvisation- A structured way of leading and following with movement cues to create a simultaneous group dance experience.

Performance Prep- Dancers will be invited to perform live in the 5th annual Boho Blade Ball, Saturday August 17 in Washington DC. **Dancers can choose from performing solo, Boho Blade group improv, Fusion Fragments group improv, other group number. **

Dancers will train from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm each day and will complete over 30 hours of dance and yoga, as well as over 17 hours of additional instruction and lecture.

Dancers will get to train with Belladonna, the founder and director of Bohemian Belly Dance and the creator of the Boho Blade sowrd system, do a photo shoot with the one and only Ken Vegas, and have the opportunity to perform at the 5th annual Boho Blade Ball, All Swords Show!

Emphasis will be on strengthening and restorative movements for dancing bodies, sword and dance technique, and group dance exchange, as well as field trips to explore some of DC's most beautiful spots, good food, art and artifacts and celebrating our own and each others's successes!

*Afternoon/ Evening- DC Monuments at Night- FDR, MLK, Lincoln, Reflecting Pool, Capital

Wednesday August 14,

10:30am-4:30pm- Training

*Evening- Photo Shoot with Ken Vegas!

Thursday August 15,

10:30am-4:30pm- Training

*7:30 Fascination montly show and dance party @ Renegade VA

Friday August 16th,

10:30am-4:30pm - Training

*Evening- PRELUDE- an online Boho Blade Ball showcase!

Saturday August 17th,

Sunday August 18th,

11am-3:30pm- Training & Lecture

*What are you Wearing? Ethnographic jewelry and textile lecture

Closing ceremony

Evening- option to attend the Fez Tones Hafla in Greenbelt MD, Belladonna is headlining

Dancers will need to bring:

A sword or 2 appropriate for bellydance.

A yoga mat

2 yoga blocks

A yoga strap

Note book or way to take notes

Costuming for photo shoot

Costuming and accessories for Blade Ball (class participation costuming details will be shared closer to the event)
