Imagine Africatown - Yesler Design Day

Imagine Africatown: Yesler Design Day is a community design charette centered on the redevelopment of 1601 Yesler and the possibilities for a connected Yesler Cultural Corridor — a network of historic, cultural, and community institutions anchoring Seattle's Central District.
The charette brings together longtime community members, cultural organizations, youth, and design partners to envision how this corridor can honor its legacy while actively shaping its future.

At its core, the charette asks participants to help define how the redevelopment of the Africatown 1601 Project (former Keiro Site) can be a catalyst for creating a cohesive experience of the existing surrounding sites of interest can add lasting value to the community — culturally, economically, and socially — for generations to come.
