Please join us for Image Readings – a monthly community gathering for image makers to share and discuss ongoing bodies of work for feedback and engagement. This month’s event is hosted by Christine Cortes, whose work is featured in our current exhibition, Affective Archives.
Space is limited; RSVP required. For those who RSVP to share work, you should plan to bring prints to share on a table or digitally to be shared on a screen.
This is a pay-what-you-can event and free for WOPHA Members (enter code at checkout).
All donations help sustain WOPHA’s year-round programming.

About Christine Cortes
Christine Cortes (they/she) is a first-generation Colombian-American artist born in Miami, FL, and raised between Miami and Colombia. As a photo-based artist, they are interested in exploring Post-Documentary Photography through alternative and non-traditional processes of image-making, image-printing, book-making, print-making, and installing images.
Christine's community efforts are fundamental to their artist practices, using photography, art education and workshops, and music to make engaging and positive changes in their community in grassroots and DIY spaces. Their work has been featured in The 2026 Klima Biennial Wien, Vienna, Austria, The Institute of Queer Ecology, The WOPHA, Miami Dade Public Library System, The Frost Art Museum, Cumulus Photo, The Bakehouse Art Complex Miami, Void Projects Miami, and The Library of Congress. Christine holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts Photography from New World School of the Arts with a minor in Art History (2020).
