In this artist-led workshop with illustrator Lucia Vinti for young adults aged 18-30, create an illustrated recipe page that showcases one of your favourite meals.
Using drawing, painting and collage, you will create tasty food illustrations to go alongside a handwritten recipe. You will have the opportunity to learn about Lucia Vinti's artistic process behind illustrating recipe book spreads and covers, and learn to combine text and image effectively on a page. By the end of the workshop, you will have your own handmade recipe page, which will make for a perfect piece of artwork for your kitchen or a unique gift.
As part of Assemblage Collective's residency at the Foundling Museum, we are exploring some of its fascinating history through our workshops. In this session, we will be inspired by the recipe card on display in the galleries, which gives us some insight into the food the children living at the Foundling Hospital would have eaten.
This workshop is open to anyone aged 18-30 and you don't need any prior experience to join us. If you want to be creative in a supportive artist-led environment, explore the art of recipe illustration, chat with other like-minded creatives, this event is for you!
One more thing...please bring along a recipe for a meal you love that you would like to reference for your artwork (this can be from a recipe book, printed out, handwritten or simply on your phone).

About your facilitator:
Lucia Vinti is a London based illustrator and creative who makes work about people, places, food and culture.
Working primarily by hand using pencil, paint and collage, Lucia creates playful and expressive illustrations that add a sense of personality and joyfulness to a wide range of commissions and clients, spanning branding, editorial, corporate, publishing and children’s books.
Assemblage Collective is an interdisciplinary network of young creatives aged 18-30 founded in May 2020. The Collective aims to build creative communities beyond the bounds of formal education and to provide pressure-free environments where creativity can flourish through a range of workshops and events. Assemblage is currently in residence at the Foundling Museum in London.
