About this Event
Ijoya is excited to invite you to our two intensive workshops, which are open and specifically for non-Columbia students. We want to bring together the African dance community from NYC colleges and beyond to experience authentic choreography in Afrobeats and Amapiano. These two workshops will be held on the same day (in the same building) but at different times (please look at the agenda for specified times and room locations). They will also be taught by experienced team members who specialise in each dance style.
As a dance team, we recognise how expensive general Afro dance classes in the city can be, so we're offering this experience at a very reduced price. We're bringing community and energy, and we hope you can join us!
Each workshop will be capped at 35 – 40 people, and we have a registration process for non-Columbia students, so space is limited. While these are “intensive” workshops, they're open to all levels – we'll break down all the fundamentals regardless of how advanced the choreography may be. Snippets of the choreo will be shown 3-4 days before. We hope to see you there! Please find the Eventbrite registration and additional details below. Also, keep up with our instagram (@ijoyacu) for any location changes/ recorded directions from the main entrance to the different rooms!
