CLEAN-UP SUPPORTERS & PARTNERS
I HEART OAKLAND ALAMEDA ESTUARY: IHOAE is an environmental stewardship organization dedicated to restoring and protecting the Oakland Estuary. Since our first cleanup in 2016, we’ve mobilized paddlers, volunteers, and partner organizations to remove thousands of pounds of plastic and debris from estuary shorelines through on-the-water and land-based cleanups. We engage the community in creating visible, measurable improvements to water quality and shoreline habitat.
EAST BAY ROWING CLUB: www.eastbayrowingclub.org The East Bay Rowing Club is dedicated to making rowing accessible to all. We believe in creating enduring relationships among our rowers as we serve our diverse community. We are proud of sponsoring and encouraging scholastic rowing programs in Oakland schools.
NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION (NOAA): National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Marine Debris Program: This project is supported by the NOAA Marine Debris Program. The NOAA Marine Debris Program is the United States Government’s lead for addressing the impacts of marine debris on our ocean, waterways, and Great Lakes. They work with organizations around the United States and globally to prevent marine debris from entering the environment, remove it from coastal areas, better understand the problem through research and shoreline monitoring, and respond to debris created by disasters.
CITY OF OAKLAND: We're proud to be part of the City of Oakland's cleanup efforts! The City encourages stewardship of Oakland year-round, providing supplies and services (including our trash-pick-up) for volunteer events.
OAKLAND BALLERS: https://www.oaklandballers.com The Oakland Ballers have a rocking BALLUNTEER PROGRAM that truly supports Oakland's community by offering each cleanup Ballunteer 2 free tickets to the game. We are excited to connect our community. We pass along the email address you register with, and the Ballers send your tickets by email.
KEEP OAKLAND BEAUTIFUL: KOB is on a mission to create and sustain a beautiful, clean, green, litter-free Oakland through education, community engagement, and volunteer action.
OPEN WATER: https://drinkopenwater.com We encourage our volunteers to bring their own water bottles but there are many times our hot, sweaty participants forget. Open Water is a new kind of water brand, using the most recycled beverage packaging on the planet (that’s aluminum bottles and cans!) and creating a process to craft premium purified still and sparkling waters as locally as possible. This means the highest quality water with the lowest possible environmental impact.
