For an additional fee, you can even learn how to play with fire yourself under the guidance of our expert performers. This is one night you don't want to miss!

FIRE WORKSHOPS info:
Dress Code for all:
Hair free of ANY products; and put up with no loose ends. Cotton bandana a plus.
Short or no sleeves please.
Wear cotton or denim, (leggings are okay as long as they are a blend)
Streamlined clothing, not wear loose or baggy clothing.
Shoes that stay on your feet easily.

Fire Safety:
(Required for newbies or a great refresher)
So you want to play with fire? If the answer is YES, this workshop is for you!
Fire dancing; It's magical, mystical, powerful and enticing! However; SAFETY FIRST! Whether you are an experienced fire dancer, a newbie, or just need a refresher, it's never a bad idea to brush up on safety procedures.
This class will cover the staging/stage set up, performance safety, questions to ask before your performance, and hands-on experience putting out the flame at several stages. Also, learn what you should have in your fire dancing toolbox and more!
Students will have the opportunity to try out several fire props that are popular with belly dancers; Fans, Palms, & Sword. We'll discuss Poi and Staff principles as well.
This course is a prerequisite to join in any of our Fire Dance classes. If you can not make this date, we are available for a one-on-one lesson.
No fire props required, but if you have some please bring! No experience necessary. This course is also GREAT for non-dancer friends who will be acting as your SAFETY when you practice at home, it helps keep us dancers safe!
Fire Workshop:

The magic of the flame beckons you to dance, the enchanting sound of the whoosh and the swish, burning away thoughts, worries, and cares, transporting you to the space where sound and light and movement are all there is...!
Come... and... Play with Fire!
This workshop will start with some movement fundamentals and warm up to address alignment and body techniques to start embodying the elements - earth to ground and connect, air and water to move with ease and flow, and fire to create a spark in your dance!
Then, we will light UP, and you will receive personal guidance as you dance from our fire professionals, addressing technique, alignment, and aesthetics. You can record yourself and our comments to view and study later. Watching others receive their guidance is a big part of absorbing teaching principles as well! Bring your props, or try some of ours to see which ones speak to you, we will provide the fuel and safety equipment, or bring your own to practice.
