IFPA 'Point Breakers' Pinball Tournament
This Pinball Tournament will be held across two days (June 5th and June 6th), and anyone at any skill level can join in the fun.
The rules are listed below:
---
--June 5th - 11:30am to 5:30pm - HIGH SCORE CHALLENGE!
Give it your all throughout the day to get the highest scores on as many pinball machines as you'd like. Score recording begins at 11:30am and runs until 5:30pm. Players may start at any time, but scoring will stop at 5:30pm.
Participants are limited to three recorded scores per machine.
To join, players must purchase an arcade wristband and let a staff member know that they would like to track their scores. A card will be given with the player's name on it. PLEASE KEEP HOLD OF THIS CARD. We will not issue a replacement if it is lost. The player's name will be added to the participant list after the first score is given.
To record your score, simply take a picture holding your player card next to the score you've gotten. Show that photo to the bartender, and that score is locked in. Remember, scores can only be locked in 3 times per machine.
Ex.) I have completed a good game on the Foo Fighters pinball machine, and I would like to record what I got. I hold my player card up to the screen (with the score in view), snap a picture with my phone, and make my way to the bar area. I tell the bartender, "Hey! I would like to record my score on Foo Fighters." and show my photo. The bartender will lock it in, and I am free to record two more scores on Foo Fighters OR move on to another machine.
** Hint: After a game is finished, the last high score will be present on the screen. If this goes away before you can take a picture, scroll through the on-screen options using the left or right flipper button until you see the score pop back up. This score will look different from previously recorded ones.
Once the High Score Challenge is complete, the top 8 players are announced and advance to the finals the next day.
---
--June 6th - 5:30pm - FAIR STRIKE KNOCKOUT! Our top 8 from the High Score Challenge will be playing for first place!
**PLEASE NOTE: Participants who qualified on Sunday for the finals DO NOT have to purchase another wristband or pay tournament fees, however, those who have a monthly membership will be required to pay $10.
Cash prizes will be given to our top players after the tournament is over!!
How Fair Strike Knockout works:
Participants will play either 3-player or 4-player games. The position you finish in will determine how many strikes are counted against you.
-- 3-player game: 1st place - 0 strikes 2nd place -1 strike 3rd place - 2 strikes
-- 4-player game: 1st place - 0 strikes 2nd place - 1 strike 3rd place - 1 strike 4th place - 2 strikes
Once a player receives 4 strikes, they're out!
