About this Event

IEP & 504 Unlocked: A Parent Navigation & Advocacy Workshop

Understanding your child’s educational rights shouldn’t feel like learning a new language.

Join us at Neuro Haus by A Prosperous Tomorrow for an interactive IEP & 504 Parent Navigation & Advocacy Workshop designed to give parents and caregivers the knowledge, tools, and confidence to effectively advocate for their child at school.

Whether your child already has an IEP or 504 Plan, you’re preparing for your first meeting, or you’re wondering whether your child may need additional support, this workshop will help you better understand the special education process and what options may be available to your family.

During this 10:00 AM–12:00 PM session, parents will learn about the differences between IEPs and 504 Plans, evaluations, accommodations, services, goals, progress monitoring, meeting preparation, documentation, and strategies for communicating effectively with school teams.

What You’ll Learn

During this two-hour workshop, we’ll help families understand:

  • The difference between an IEP and a 504 Plan
  • How to determine which plan may be appropriate for your child
  • How to request an evaluation or additional school-based supports
  • How to prepare for an IEP or 504 meeting
  • How to understand goals, accommodations, services, and progress monitoring
  • What questions parents should ask during meetings
  • How to recognize when your child's current plan may not be meeting their needs
  • How to effectively communicate concerns with teachers and school teams
  • The importance of documentation and keeping records
  • How to advocate for neurodivergent students, including children with Autism, ADHD, learning differences, and other disabilities

Who Should Attend?

This event is designed for:

  • Parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children
  • Families whose child currently has an IEP or 504 Plan
  • Parents who believe their child may need additional support at school
  • Families preparing for their first IEP or 504 meeting
  • Parents who want to become more confident advocates for their children

The workshop will also address the unique needs of neurodivergent students, including children with Autism, ADHD, learning differences, developmental disabilities, and other support needs.

Most importantly, this is a space for parents to ask questions, connect with resources, and become more confident advocates for their children.

Come With Questions. Leave Empowered.

At Neuro Haus, we believe families shouldn't have to navigate educational systems alone. Our goal is to connect neurodivergent children and their families with the knowledge, community, resources, and support they need to thrive at school, at home, and beyond.
