About this Event
Join us June 26, 2026 from 12 - 3 p.m. for an afternoon of community conversation as we gather to highlight the impact and and progress of the International Decade for People of African Descent and discuss the upcoming priorities, the IDPAD Youth Grants Program and share lived community experiences.
This free event will bring together community members, grant recipients, and leaders for dialogue, knowledge sharing and connection. This gathering is open to community members, artists, organizers and anyone interested in learning more about the IDPAD in a welcoming space.
Doors will open at noon. Attendees are invited to check in, explore the resource and welcome table, mingle, and settle in to the sounds of DJ Caleb. The program will begin with opening remarks from the event MC, Caleb Isaac, followed by a IDPAD chair welcome by Barbara Hudlin.
The IDPAD advisory committee will showcase a presentation of their impact followed by an advisory panel. Attendees will also hear directly from IDPAD grant recipients during a facilitated panel. The event will conclude with an opportunity to connect, reflect and build community.
Light refreshments will be provided. Victoria City Hall (Antechamber) is wheelchair accessible. For any other accessibility accommodations, please email [email protected].
