This full-day conference sits at the heart of the UN's global campaign to eliminate violence against women and girls. As a registered charity, AWARE relies on the generosity of partners to turn this global mandate into local action – transforming Singapore's response to gender-based violence.

IDEVAW is the UN's global call to end violence against women and girls. But the fight is local – it happens in our communities, courts, and homes. AWARE is convening this conference to turn global mandate into local action: influencing policymakers, showcasing research, and building the collaborations needed for trauma-informed change.

Conference Highlights

• Coercive Control Report Launch – What does abuse look like when there are no bruises? Drawing on findings from victim-survivors in Singapore, this session explores coercive control as a pattern of entrapment and what meaningful change looks like.
• Masculinity Report Feature – This presentation examines the state of masculinity in Singapore and its implications for mental health, relationships, and gender equality.
• Photovoice Exhibition – When words fail, photos give survivors an outlet to express their feelings and claim their power. Earlier this year, AWARE ran seven group sessions for survivors. At IDEVAW 2026, we highlight the power of photography as a safe, containing way to uncover survivor voices.
• Bystander Intervention & Consent Education – Sessions on culturally responsive bystander strategies and trauma-informed consent education for vulnerable youth.

Keynote Speaker

We are honoured to welcome a renowned trauma therapist, educator, and international speaker as our opening keynote. A former child refugee, their work bridges the personal and the political – bringing a deeply embodied understanding of trauma, resilience, and healing to complex issues like systemic oppression and racial trauma.
