Session 1: Ministerial & Industry Leader Fireside Dialogue

Info: Topic:“Maritime Cooperation, Competitiveness and Growth”

Synopsis:
The global maritime, shipbuilding and offshore energy industries are operating in an increasingly complex environment shaped by changing trade patterns, supply-chain pressures, energy-transition requirements and geopolitical uncertainty.

This dialogue will bring together government and senior industry leaders to discuss how maritime economies, industry associations and companies can strengthen cooperation while remaining competitive and creating new opportunities for sustainable industry growth.

The discussion will consider how trusted partnerships, resilient supply chains, stronger industry capabilities and closer cross-border collaboration can help expand the maritime economy and support long-term growth across ASEF member economies and international maritime partners.

🕑: 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Session 2: Industry Insight Presentations

Info: Topic:“Smart Shipbuilding & Maritime Digitalisation: From Technology Adoption to Industry Opportunity”
Synopsis: Digitalisation, automation, AI, robotics and advanced manufacturing are transforming how vessels and offshore assets are designed, built, repaired and maintained.

However, adoption varies across the industry. While leading shipyards deploy smart-yard technologies at scale, others focus on modernising production, building local capabilities and identifying technologies that deliver commercial value.

This session will examine how smart-shipbuilding technologies can improve productivity, quality, safety and competitiveness, while creating opportunities for industry players across the supply chain.

It will bring together perspectives from advanced and developing shipbuilding ecosystems, as well as the classification community, to explore how technology can be translated into trusted and scalable commercial solutions.

🕑: 12:15 PM - 01:30 PM
Networking Lunch
🕑: 01:30 PM - 02:45 PM
Session 3: Industry Insight Presentations

Info: Topic:“Maritime Decarbonisation: From Demonstration to Safe Commercial Deployment”
Synopsis: The transition to lower- and zero-emission shipping is creating new requirements across vessel design, propulsion, shipbuilding, retrofit, equipment and operations.
Pathways include electrification, hybrid systems, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, LNG and others. Adoption, however, depends on technology maturity, infrastructure, safety, regulations, commercial viability and shipowner investment.
This session explores how decarbonisation solutions can move from development to safe, repeatable and commercial deployment. Drawing on perspectives from Singapore, Türkiye, Malaysia, ASEF and shipowners, it will consider what has been demonstrated, gaps that remain, emerging demand and collaboration opportunities across the value chain.
It will also examine how shipowners, yards, manufacturers, class, fuel providers, ports and regulators can work together to support safe, scalable deployment.

🕑: 02:45 PM - 03:15 PM
Networking Tea break
🕑: 03:15 PM - 04:30 PM
Session 4: Regional Perspectives

Info: Topic: “Regional Maritime Markets and Business Opportunities”
Synopsis: Across Asia, maritime economies are expanding shipbuilding, repair, offshore, port and industrial capabilities in response to domestic demand, fleet renewal, energy developments and shifting supply chains.

Opportunities differ by market. Some economies seek technology, investment and expertise to modernise existing industries, while others are building new capacity in shipbuilding, repair, offshore-energy and maritime services.

This session will provide practical perspectives on selected markets, covering their capabilities, priorities and areas for international participation.

It will also explore how industry associations, shipyards, equipment manufacturers, engineering companies, technology providers and investors can build partnerships, enter new markets and strengthen regional supply chains.
