Idea Jam

Want to spend next semester building something real, but not sure what to build? Idea Jam is your launchpad. 🧠

Join the BU Spark! team in the Spark! Space to brainstorm project ideas for hackathons, side projects, or XC475, the Spark! Technology Innovation Fellowship. In XC475, you’ll take an idea from concept to working prototype in one semester, with support from Spark! experts and industry mentors.

Who should come?

• 📊 Data science majors looking for a project that meets the DS capstone requirement
• 💻 Computer science students: XC475 can count toward Group D requirements with approval from your CS advisor
• 🎨 Designers and UX researchers who want to join a technical team
• 💡 Anyone curious about building something real for a hackathon or side project, whether you’re into LLM agents, computer vision, cybersecurity or hardware

What to expect

• Guided brainstorming to turn rough ideas into projects you can actually ship
• A chance to meet potential teammates
• Tips for your XC475 application from the Spark! team

Come with an idea, come looking for a team or come with nothing at all. You’ll walk away with a backlog of buildable ideas and a head start on your application.
