I2SL New England: One Milestone Tour

Join I2SL New England for a behind-the-scenes tour of One Milestone, a new life science development in Boston's Allston neighborhood. Participants will explore the building's complex engineering systems, technical support spaces, and innovative sustainability strategies while hearing from the project team about the challenges of designing and delivering a high-performance laboratory building.
Located within Harvard's Enterprise Research Campus, One Milestone is the new 510,000 square foot life science development designed by Henning Larsen and Studio Gang, with Arrowstreet serving as Architect of Record. The project features flexible laboratory infrastructure, a split central plant, sophisticated MEP systems, and provisions for future full electrification. Its complex architectural geometry required careful structural optimization, while low-carbon concrete and innovative material strategies contributed to an approximately 18% reduction in embodied carbon.
The event will begin at 5:30 PM with registration and a brief project presentation, followed by a guided tour. Participants will have an opportunity to explore mechanical penthouses, laboratory shell spaces, and building support areas, including below-grade infrastructure, as time permits.
