About this Event

Reading success begins long before a child reads their first book. It begins with language.

Join internationally recognized experts Dr. Hugh Catts and Dr. Tiffany Hogan, along with leading Idaho literacy expert, Dr. Sally Brown for a full day exploring the latest research on dyslexia, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), oral language, reading development, and the implementation of evidence-based literacy practices.

Designed for educators, administrators, interventionists, special educators, speech-language pathologists, coaches, and literacy leaders, this summit will bridge research and practice, helping participants understand not only what the science tells us, but how we translate that knowledge into effective instruction and stronger literacy systems.

Participants will deepen their understanding of the relationship between language and reading, explore how dyslexia and DLD overlap, and differ, and examine what it takes to move evidence-based practices from research into meaningful classroom implementation.

Whether you are new to the Science of Reading or continuing to build your expertise, this summit will provide a shared foundation for improving literacy and language outcomes for Idaho students.
