Bunker Hill Mine: Updates on Improvements and Production

Join us at 1 pm at the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, 2455 Old Penitentiary Road, for a long-awaited update on the Bunker Hill Mine in the Silver Valley of North Idaho. Sam Ash will be discussing the 6-year process to bring the Bunker Hill Mine back into production after having been shut down for 40 years for environmental noncompliance.
The presentation will touch on the history of this iconic mine, the future of the mine, and the journey of restarting a mine in an EPA Superfund site.

About Our Lecturer, Sam Ash:
A former Executive General Manager of Barrick Gold’s Lumwana Copper Mine in Zambia, Mr. Ash is an experienced American Mining Engineer and modernizing leader, with a proven track record of building and leading teams capable of operating efficiently in complex and challenging environments.
During his tenure at Lumwana Mr. Ash delivered over $100M in sustainable free cash- flow improvements, achieved 50% improvement in safety performance, executed a training and development program achieving 96% local workforce, and progressed expansion plans that doubled the value of the mine.
Sam Ash has a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla; and an MA in Strategic Leadership from London Business School.
