ICYF Zoo Day 2026

Attendees must be at the Indianola Middle School in front of the Blake Fieldhouse between 8:45 and 8:55 am on Wednesday, June 3. Upon arrival, they will check in, fill up their water bottle, and use the restroom before loading the bus. The bus will leave the Middle School promptly at 9am. We will head directly to the zoo and be there approximately 9:30am to 11:45am. At 12pm we will serve a sack lunch at the zoo. For dietary/allergen concerns, please text/call Taylor at 515-681-5726.

We will load the bus after lunch and depart at 12:30 with arrival back at the Middle School at approximately 1pm. All attendees need to be picked up in front of the Blake Fieldhouse between 1 and 1:15pm.

Please make sure your child has eaten breakfast and is wearing sunscreen before dropping them off in the morning. Please dress weather appropriately and wear comfortable shoes. Please leave valuables at home. ICYF will provide a drawstring bag and reusable water bottle to all attendees so please leave purses/wallets at home. Do not send money with your child as we will not allow the purchase of extra food/drink items.

The only reason we would cancel would be a bad thunderstorm (heavy rain, winds, lightning). This call would be made at 7am and an email would only be sent out IF we were to cancel. No email means that the trip is a go. In the event of light rain that morning, we will still go, consider sending your child with a poncho, rain coat, or umbrella.
