Nancy Drew, the world’s most popular teen detective, has sold more than 200 million books in 45+ languages. Few know she was shaped by Iowa writer Mildred Augustine, who secretly wrote 23 of the first 30 mysteries, including The Secret of the Old Clock.“Nancy Drew: Iowa Heroine to the World” is presented by Barbara Lounsberry, retired University of Northern Iowa English professor and author, who brings this Iowa literary story to life.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Community 1st Credit Union and funded by Humanities Iowa, a private, non-profit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
