Ichiyo School of Ikebana Melbourne presents an exhibition and workshops at Gasworks Theatre from Tuesday 30 June to Sunday 5 July, with the 4th Headmaster, Mr. Naohiro Kasuya from Japan. The Exhibition is a free event! Live ikebana demonstration by Mr. Kasuya will also be held on Friday 3 July at Izakaya by Tamura in Fitzroy.
Ichiyo School of Ikebana places importance on the ‘ma’ between the floral materials and oneself. There is ‘ma’ in everything – space, time, way of relating or balance, and people have different ways of feeling and perceiving things.
‘Ichiyo Ikebana Experience’ is an official celebratory event of the 50th Anniversary of Friendship and Cooperation between Australina and Japan.
We welcome all ikebana practitioners or anyone who is simply interested in ikebana to celebrate this special occasion with us!
