Do you enjoy winter and love frozen lakes, but don't yet master the safety? What would happen in the worst case scenario? Is this the reason why you only move on maintained tracks or following other people. Now is your chance to learn and make your winter adventures more safe. On a frozen lake everyone is 100% responsible of themselves. Come to listen to our lecture, learn more and also test yourself in a safe environment. We will give you versatile information about ice. How it forms, what are the dangers... We will also give you guidelines how to recognize when it is safe.
If you have your own safety gear, now is a good chance to test them. Are your ice spikes the kind that they work in a real situation and are you able to reach your throwbag while in the water? If you don't have this kind of equipment, that is okay too. Now you have chance to learn about them and test ours.
The event starts with the lecture and after that everyone has a chance to test how to get back on the frozen lake after going into the water. We will have a person to supervise this and help if needed.
Price: 35 € includes lecture, something warm to drink (juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate) and the rescue practise.
If you have your own neoprenshoes, we recommend to use those or few wollensocks on top of each other (shoes take a lot of time to dry). Remember to bring full set of clothes to change into.
Event takes place in our rental shop in Kaupinoja, (Kaupinpuistonkatu 4&6).
Reserve your place through email: [email protected] or send us a private message here. Reservations before 23.1. 8 pm.
