About this Event
Presented by Host Publications, I Scream Social is a monthly feminist reading series and ice cream party that takes place at Alienated Majesty Books. We aim to celebrate and empower historically marginalized writers and share incredible literature and diverse perspectives to an Austin-area audience. In November, we are featuring Katelin Kelly, Yvette DeChavez, & Kimberly Lambright!

Katelin Kelly is a poet and educator originally from Lexington, KY. She holds an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin where she served as managing editor of Bat City Review. Her poetry and prose can be found in Electric Lit, Narrative, Porter House Review, and elsewhere. Kate teaches creative writing and English in central Texas. She is currently working on a book about the life, poetry, and arcana of Elise Cowen. Her poetry manuscript Tuck was recently named as a finalist for the National Poetry Series.
Yvette DeChavez is a writer and educator originally from San Antonio. She earned a PhD in English from UT Austin and is an alum of the Tin House Workshop and Sewanee Writers' Conference. Her writing can be found in the Los Angeles Times, Passages North, and elsewhere. She is currently working on a novel.
Kimberly Lambright's second poetry collection, Doom Glove, came out September 2024 from PRROBLEM Press. She is also the author of Ultra-Cabin, winner of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Prize, 2016. She is a MacDowell Colony fellow, and her poetry appears in Phoebe, Columbia Poetry Review, ZYZZYVA, Bone Bouquet, The Burnside Review and elsewhere.
