Backyard Comedy? How does it work? Here's and FAQ for those who have never been.
1. Where is it? In someone's backyard. Follow the address. Park somewhere close and walk into the backyard. There will be signs directing you. Our hosts open their house up to use the facilities, but the event is in the backyard.
2. What do I need to bring? A chair... your drink of choice, we will have some waters and other drinks in case you run out but be sure to bring your own. Snacks or dinner if you want. We don't serve anything. Also, a sense of humor would also be good to have on hand. Come ready to laugh.
3. Where do I sit? No assigned seating. Pitch your chair anywhere in the backyard. Up front is the best.
4. Is there anything I shouldn't bring? Yes. No Kids. No Pets. No sour attitudes. You know who you are. We need a break...this is it. Come to have fun and laugh with your neighbors and friends.
5. Any other no no's? Yes. Silence your cell phone, no video recording or FLASH photography. Don't do anything to take away from the comedians. And don't post videos of their act.
6. Is there a charge? No. This is a free event, but we do ask that at some time during the evening you tip the comedians for the show. We ask that if you enjoyed yourself then tip out what it would normally cost to see something similar. There will be a tip jar and QR codes available to provide a donation through Venmo or Paypal.
7., How do I learn about future events? Like the comedy page on Facebook, Hyattsville Comedy, or provide your email and we will put you on the email list. We have two more shows scheduled this summer.
