ANNOUNCING THE HILLSBORO-WEST END NEIGHBORHOOD-WIDE YARD SALE!

As announced in the the HWEN newsletter, our second annual HWEN-wide yard sale will take place on Saturday, September 6, from 8-2. That is the Saturday after Labor Day, and with any luck, the weather will be as amazing as it was last year.
Here are a few frequently asked questions:
1. Where will the yard sale take place?
Participation is throughout the entire Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood. (Visit HWEN.org/neighborhood for a map of our streets and boundaries.) Look for the signs in yards. We will also try to announce beforehand on social media as many of the participating streets as possible. In any event, be sure to drive around, particularly at the outskirts of the neighborhood.
2. Do I need to sign up ahead of time to participate? Nope. You can decide the night before, or even the morning of. But, if you want a sign, or if you want to be sure your street is highlighted in any promotion, please advise at your earliest convenience (and no later than Friday, August 29th).
3. Should I nonetheless let HWEN know if I plan to participate? Yes! That will help us with any targeted promotion we might do, and is also an opportunity to get a sign. Just send an email to Colin DOT rushing AT Mac DOT com .
4. How is the yard sale being promoted? As with last year, we will plant signs all over the neighborhood the week before the yard sale. In addition, we will announce the yard sale on social media and other free places to advertise. We will also print a bunch of flyers to be posted in the neighborhood and around town. Please feel free to spread the word far and wide!
5. Will sales stay open the entire time (8-2)? That is entirely up to each participant. Some may be open earlier, some later. Please be respectful of each yard sale.
6. What else? There may be lemonade stands and bake sales!
7. You’ve mentioned signs a few times. Can you tell me more? We plan to plant a few dozen yard signs scattered throughout the neighborhood and all along the main routes (21st, Natchez, Blair, Woodlawn, etc.), as well as in the yards of participants.
8. I live in HWEN and want to participate. What do I do?
Anyone in the neighborhood may participate, even as late as Saturday morning. If you know ahead of time that you are participating and are willing to let us put a sign in your yard, please drop a line with your address to Colin DOT rushing AT mac DOT com .
