Participate in a diverse set of focused training sessions to get you prepared to volunteer for this upcoming Hurricane Season.
About this Event

Current disaster volunteer groups and new volunteers are invited to join Seminole County for:

• Presentations and hands-on instruction from experts on chainsaw saftey, tarping roof effectively, flood muck-out, generator safety, and more.

• Learn how Seminole County is poised to respond to hurricanes this year, with the help of our volunteer, faith-based, and private partners.

• Network with other volunteers and faith-based organizations assisting the community during disasters. Learn how your organization can get involved.

• Breakfast and lunch for registered attendees

• Learn how to build your Disaster Survival Kit

30 minute hands-on workshop sessions will be offered to attendees shortly after the main presentation. Attendees can choose two courses to attend per training block.

  • American Red Cross Presentation
  • Introduction to Shelter Training

Training Block B Courses:

  • Disaster Insurance Claims & Coverage
  • Chainsaw/Generator Safety Training

Info: This presentation will kick off our Hurricane Action Day 2026 event. Presenters will go over the upcoming forecast for the 2026 Hurricane Season and the importance of Seminole Heart and our non-profit partners in disaster response and recovery.
