Drawing on years of research and local history, Kristina will illuminate the hidden network of safe houses, courageous conductors, and determined freedom seekers who risked everything to escape slavery.Through compelling stories, historical artifacts, and newly developed mapping projects, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how Belmont County’s geography, community spirit, and moral conviction made it a vital link in the Underground Railroad. This program not only honors the bravery of those who traveled the path to freedom but also highlights the importance of preserving and sharing this history for future generations.
