And this time, we’re taking you to vibrant and flavourful Hungary… 🇭🇺✨
🍷 A Special Collaboration 🍷
We’re so excited about this as it’s something unprecedented for us Voodoo Vegans: we’re unwinding both a partnership with a family of incredible winemakers and a food-wine pairing! 🍽️🍷
If you’ve been following us, you know that we’ve always given great emphasis to terroir and pairings with beer - or even spirits. But this time it’s all about natural wine. 🍷✨
And not just any wine! Nagy and Sons produce some kickass libations in Hungary with local native grapes, using ancient methods, all made by hand within the family.
So we curated with love a dedicated menu inspired by their craft and Hungarian tradition - with our own twist. 🎭👨🍳
🍽 As usual around here, everything is homemade, cooked in small batches, no shortcuts - just good ingredients and time. 💚🖤

🍛 HUNGARIAN-INSPIRED MEAL 🌱 €17
🍲 Vegan Pörkölt (Hungarian Stew with Our Own Plant-Based “Beef”)
This one took some testing, but we nailed it. A deeply spiced, slow-simmered stew, made with our own homemade vegan “beef” and plenty of authentic Hungarian smoked paprika. Bold, hearty and exactly the kind of food you want with a glass of good wine.
💜🍏 Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage (Ecetes Káposzta)
Slow-braised with vinegar, caraway and just a touch of sweetness. We love how it cuts through the richness of the stew - it’s one of those sides that quietly makes everything better.
🥔 Hungarian Roasted Potatoes (Pecsenye Krumpli)
Golden crispy roasted potatoes, seasoned with Hungarian paprika, garlic and a touch of caraway for warmth and depth. A comforting classic with rich, toasty flavours.
🥒 Twisted Cucumber Salad (Tartósított Uborka Saláta)
Spiralized cucumbers, lightly marinated for the perfect balance of brightness and depth, sprinkled with poppy seeds. Cool, crisp and refreshing - a contrast that brings out the richness of the rest of the meal.
🧅 Caramelized Onions (Pörkölt Hagyma)
Slow-cooked until golden, sweet, and ridiculously good. Put them on the potatoes, put them in the stew, eat them with a spoon - we won’t judge.
🌿 🐽 Vegan Tepertő (Crispy Cracklings)
A plant-based twist on Hungarian cracklings, made with a drying technique that keeps them perfectly crispy. Smoky, crunchy and dangerously snackable.
✨ OPTIONAL EXTRAS – Because We Like to Go All In ✨
🥄🫙SAUCES🫙🥄 €2 (50ml)
🔥 Ajvar – A smoky red pepper and eggplant spread that makes everything taste better.

🥛 Vegan Tejföl (Sour Cream Alternative) – Handmade and tangy, the perfect cooling contrast to the stew.
🥕Cold Pickled Veggies – Tangy, fresh and naturally fermented. - 4€ (100ml)
🍇🍐Wine-Poached Fruits – Fruits gently poached in wine, infused with warm spices. - 6€ (300ml-ish)
🍷 WINE - OF COURSE! 🍷
Dry Amber Qvevri Natural Wines made from native Hungarian grapes. - 750ml bottle - 15€ !!
- Furmint & Lindenleaf 2020 🍏🌋🍯✨ - Rich, silky and mineral-driven.
Unfiltered wine from volcanic soil. It has a silky texture and medium body. Its orchard fruit soft acidity is complemented by delicate floral and nutty notes. PAIRING NOTES: Pairs well with the richness of the Pörkölt, balancing the deep paprika flavors with its bright acidity and subtle nuttiness.
- Generoza 2023 🍊🍐🍋💦 - Bright, fresh and structured.
Unfiltered wine. Medium to light body. Quite refreshing. It brings on some citrus fruit acidity but it’s also well-structured. Notes of prune and pear jam are also present. PAIRING NOTES: Its crispness cuts through the richness of the stew, while its fruity notes complement the sweet-and-sour cabbage.
- Generoza 2021 🌞🍇🥂🌿 - Lighter, smoother and easygoing.
Filtered wine. Looks and feels cleaner and lighter than its 2023 counterpart. It’s everything the wine above is but sunnier in a relaxed way. PAIRING NOTES: A softer, easygoing match that enhances the slow-cooked flavors without overpowering them.
📝SOME MORE INFO ABOUT THIS MENU📝
A little while ago, we had the chance to meet a family of incredible winemakers, working together in Hungary to produce small-batch natural wines. 🍷✨ Everything they do is by hand, from tending the vines to fermenting the wine in traditional qvevri (Georgian clay amphorae that are buried in the ground), which imparts very unique characteristics to their wine, a very pleasant textural richness and complex mineral undertones. 🌊🪨 Their wines are alive, deep and full of character - just like the care and philosophy behind them.
We felt a connection ✨ because that’s how we approach food as well: made from scratch, slowly, with honesty and with real ingredients. 🍲⏳🌱
So, through Hungarian flavours, we intend to celebrate craftsmanship, tradition, and the beauty of small-scale food made with love. 🖤💚 We’ve been researching about Hungarian food and culinary traditions, experimenting and putting together a feast that could bring out the best in these wines as well🍷✨.
And yes, you can get your fangs on a bottle (or two, or three, or six… 😏).
