HUMAN TRAFFIC + W: A RETURN TO OZ: Double Bill
About this Event
Kelham Island Film Club presents W : A Return to Oz, a 30min DIY film shot on tape and pieced together with archive footage, followed by the rave culture movie staple that is Human Traffic (1999).
"Locked and loaded with film tape, an ameatur filmmaker explores an abandoned rave house, once known as The Warehouse, that was once the beating heart of the South West’s clubland.
We explore its history, its people and the future. Through a combination of archives and stories of people who lived there, the film explores through the medium of analogue what once was and how even a now silent derelict shell can become the centre of the universe."
Human Traffic (1999) follows a group of friends as they plan, party, and come down from a big night out in Wales. The plot is simple, but relationships are complicated and the abtract motifs are wacky and joyful. The film is a true celebtration of the scene, along with a fantastic soundtrack featuring soundtrack, featuring Matthew Herbert, Fatboy Slim, Brainbug and Orbital.
