Join us for a full‑day festival bringing together acclaimed novelists, poets, and thinkers from across the literary world.
About this Event

Hughes Hall Literary Day welcomes leading contemporary writers and thinkers to discuss their work, their creative lives and the ideas that shape their practice. Throughout the day, award winning novelists including Megan Hunter, Burhan Sonmez, Sarvat Hasin, Nick Bradley, Yvonne Battle Felton, Joe Mungo Reed and Sam Sussman will speak on the craft of storytelling, in conversation with each other and with distinguished moderators. The programme also includes a hands on creative writing workshop that invites you to explore your own craft, whether you are a new or experienced writer.

The day concludes with a special panel of poets in honour of World Poetry Day (21 March) featuring Anthony Vahni Capildeo, Adam Crothers, and Angela Leighton, offering a unique chance to hear acclaimed poets read and discuss their work. Literary Day brings together an exceptional community of voices in one place to showcase the richness and diversity of today’s literary landscape.

Whether you are interested in the craft of writing, the art of reading or the exchange of ideas that literature makes possible, we hope you will join us for what promises to be a very special gathering.
