About this Event

Join Austin Emerging Arts Leaders for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to craft a thoughtful and professional artist bio and statement for your website, grant applications, exhibitions, and more. Through guided writing exercises, warm-up prompts, and feedback, attendees will have time to begin drafting their own materials in a supportive setting.

About the Presenters:

Natalie Earhart is the Founder, Editor-in-Chief, and Writer of Almost Real Things, a magazine and creative community that helps artists connect, grow, and share their work. A practicing artist and freelance writer, Natalie holds a degree in Studio Art from UC Santa Barbara. Since moving to Austin, she’s dedicated her career to uplifting fellow creatives through storytelling, collaboration, and accessible professional development. She also serves as a board member for Austin Emerging Arts Leaders (EAL), where she helps support and empower the next generation of arts leaders.

Lindsay Hutchens brings two decades of experience as an artist and arts administrator dedicated to visual art production, dissemination, and education. She is a Project Manager for the City of Austin’s Art in Public Places program, which commissions artists across all media to create site-specific public art that reflects the history and values of Austin’s communities. Lindsay’s artist practice, inclusive of curation, writing, and archive work, continues from her project Photographic Procreation: Present-ness and Kinship in Family Photographs. She holds an MFA in Photography and an MA in Visual Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
