About this Event

Do you replay conversations in your head for days? Lie awake analysing every detail of your day? Ask yourself “What if…” or “Why did I…”?

You're not alone, your brain is overthinking as it tries to solve a problem that can't be solved through thinking alone. Overthinking disguises itself as problem-solving, but it keeps us stuck rather than moving us forward.

In this insightful talk, discover why we get trapped in unhelpful thinking patterns and, more importantly, how to break free. Drawing on over 20 years of clinical experience and the strategies from her new book The Overthinking Cure, Dr Jessamy Hibberd will guide you through practical techniques to recognise thought patterns, interrupt doom spirals, and develop healthy ways of responding to anxious thoughts.

Whether your overthinking shows up at 3am, during difficult conversations, or when making decisions, you'll leave with tools you can use immediately to create more mental space and peace.

You'll discover how to:

  • Notice your thoughts without getting caught in them
  • Challenge unhelpful thinking patterns
  • Choose your response rather than defaulting to worry
  • Accept uncertainty and face fears in healthier ways
  • Break the cycle before it takes hold

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!
