About this Event

Local government makes decisions that impact our lives every single day. From how we move around the city to the services we access, who we elect affects how we experience where we live. Join Women Transforming Cities (WTC) and Vancity Community Foundation (VCF) on Monday, September 21 from 10-11:30 AM for a hands-on workshop that explores how decisions get made at the local level and why it’s so important to engage in the 2026 election cycle.
-> Coffee and pastries provided!
The first 45 participants who arrive will receive a $20 honorarium. Those who arrive after are still welcome to participate.

We'll explore:

  • How decisions are made at the local level and the opportunities to influence those decisions
  • Strategies to analyze candidate platforms to help you vote for values-aligned candidates
  • Voter eligibility and key election dates to keep in mind
