From westward growth to civil rights, music history, and America’s urban landscape, St. Louis has been at the center of it all for the last 250 years.
Part 4: How St. Louis Shaped the Soundtrack of America | Thursday, August 27 | 5–8pm
Celebrate St. Louis’s musical innovators and icons that built—and rebuilt—the soundtrack of America throughout the 20th century, from ragtime to jazz to rock ‘n’ roll. P
Public Historian Andrew Wanko explores this history with live musical accompaniment by The Barrelhouse Sinners and Anita Jackson, illustrating the many ways in which St. Louisans helped construct the sonic architecture of our country.

5–7pm | Food and drinks available for purchase.
5:00–6:30pm | Visit resource tables and participate in activities to get your happy hour bingo card stamped; explore exhibits; and pick up a copy of "St. Louis Sound: An Illustrated Timeline" to have signed by authors Amanda Doyle and Steve Pick.
6:30–8:00pm | Head to the Lee Auditorium (lower level) where Public Historian Andrew Wanko will explore St. Louis music history with live musical accompaniment by the Barrelhouse Sinners and Anita Jackson.
