How Might We...? | A Community of Practice with sgMAN

How might we…?
How might we help men build and maintain meaningful friendships?
How might we make it easier for men to ask for help?
How might we create more space for men to care for themselves while carrying responsibilities for others?
These are some of the questions that began to emerge at our Community of Practice in July.
This August, we continue the conversation and move into the next part of Walk the Talk.
We’ll begin by looking at what we noticed together in the previous session. We’ll decide on one area that feels worth exploring further, then work together to generate different possibilities for what we could do about it.
We’ll ask:
- What is the concern we want to address?
- What could make a difference?
- What different approaches could we try?
- Which ideas feel worth exploring further?
- Is there something here that we might want to take forward?
This will be a hands-on working session. We’ll be writing, discussing, combining ideas and developing some of them further.
We may leave with the beginnings of a project. We may leave with several possibilities that still need more thinking. There is no pressure to arrive at a finished solution.
The aim is simply to move from “What are we noticing?” towards “What could we do?”
Do I need to attend the July session?
No.
We’ll start with a short recap of where the previous conversation ended, so you can join us even if this is your first sgMAN Community of Practice.

What is sgMAN’s Community of Practice?
sgMAN’s Community of Practice is a space for men to explore how we can put what we are learning into practice in our lives, relationships and communities.
This is part of Walk the Talk, the fifth step of the sgMAN journey.
You don’t need to be an expert or come with a solution. Come with your experiences, questions, ideas and willingness to work with others.
