How Food Grows Our Health
About this Event
Join Soil Squad for a special evening celebrating the release of Soil to Gut: How to Regenerate Your Health with Food by Dr Lucy Williamson, registered nutritionist, former veterinary surgeon and passionate advocate for the connection between soil, food and health.
We're delighted to welcome Lucy to the Community Plot at Sandridge Road Allotments, St Albans, where the setting couldn't be more fitting. Surrounded by living compost and the very soil that inspires Soil Squad's work, we'll discover why the journey to healthier food, healthier people and healthier communities begins beneath our feet.
Drawing on her unique background in veterinary medicine, nutrition and public health, Lucy will share the inspiration behind Soil to Gut, revealing how the health of our soil shapes the food we eat, our gut microbiome and ultimately our wellbeing. You'll leave with a fresh understanding of why caring for our soil could be one of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves and future generations.
Expect a warm and uplifting evening with a delicious seasonal pudding, refreshing kombucha, inspiring conversation and plenty of opportunities to chat. So do come along, make new connections and share ideas with people who care about food, health and the natural world.
