About this Event
Join us for André Alexis’s final lecture where he will be discussing J.W. Campbell’s story “Who Goes There?” (adapted by John Carpenter as “The Thing”) and Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”. Through literature and film Alexis will examine the question: are the best monsters the ones that resemble us the closest?
André Alexis is Toronto Reference Library's Writer In Residence for fall 2024, with a focus on horror and literature of dread.
André is an author of novels, short stories, and plays. His 2015 novel, Fifteen Dogs, won the Scotiabank Giller Prize, Canada Reads, and the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.
