About this Event
Michelle Hamlet will be sharing some examples of how other Sunday Assemblies across the globe have lived by their motto 'help often' through volunteering, self-led initiatives and by utilising their surplus funds to support their community.
In this assembly we'll discuss and decide how we want to do these things ourselves.
Whether this will be your first ever assembly or you're a long standing member of the group, we'd love to see you there to help us shape our future!
Join us for a tea or coffee from 10.45 for an 11am start.
In case you want to think about this in advance, here are the questions we'll be discussing during the session:
1. How should we spend/ invest our surplus funds? By donation to one or more charities, to set up local initiatives (litter picking etc.), reinvest into our community to provide social events/ special assemblies, or something else?
2. How should we 'help often?' By donation to one or more charities. fundraising activities, volunteering in local activities and initiatives, setting up our own community initiatives, or something else?
3. If we decide to support one or more charities, how should we decide what these are, how regularly they change, how much to donate? Do you have any suggestions for charities that we might support?
Sunday Assembly Glasgow is a monthly secular gathering where we seek to Live Better, Help Often and Wonder More. We meet on the first Sunday of every month at 10.45 for 11am (for one hour) at Partickhill Bowling and Community Club, 46 Partickhill Road, Glasgow, G11 5BY in Hyndland. () . ALL WELCOME.
