The 2026 stock show season is upon us and with that comes the anticipation and excitement of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Beefmaster breeders and cattlemen from around the world come together annually to witness the newest genetics and market conditions in the industry. With the Houston Livestock Shows also comes two of the most prestigious and attended Beefmaster events of the year, the STBBA Futurity and the Houston Magic sales.The Houston Magic sale has become a cornerstone event during stock show week, offering an elite opportunity to evaluate genetics that are built for real-world production and long-term success. What began 26 years ago as a bold idea has evolved into a trusted marketplace where quality, consistency, and forward thinking breeding programs take center stage.
The 2026 Magic sale marks the 26th anniversary of the event and the second time it has been hosted by Strategy Cattle. Long time breed icon, Bruce Robbins, initiated the event in 2000 and cultivated it into the genetic offering it has become today. It is with a heavy heart that we won’t have Bruce along with us for the ride this year, but his positive spirit, insightful ingenuity, and genetic consultation legacy will live on indefinitely within the Houston Magic.
As in previous years, the 2026 Houston Magic will continue to emphasize a more ranch production sale type offering. Each consignor has brought forward their very best of the year, resulting in a powerful set of herd sire prospects, future semen sires, and elite females anchored by proven cow families. The are genetics selected with intention and are balanced and functional. This year’s Houston Magic Sale will be held Friday March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the NRG Arena Sales Pavilion in Houston, Texas. We invite you to join us to evaluate this exciting offering and take advantage of a rare opportunity to invest in genetics that will make a difference in your program.
