Houseful of Heads is a celebration of the flourishing Meanjin (Brisbane) visual art scene. An exploration of self perception and identity. Emphasising the similarities and differences in our shared human experience. For the second iteration of this exhibition we are partnering with Vacant Assembly to showcase an eclectic mix of 35 self-portraits. With all works following the same dimensions in order to accentuate the unique visions and aesthetic of each exhibiting artist in juxtaposition with the other works. The subject of self-portraiture often draws connotations to themes of identity and self-perception. Houseful of Heads aims to explore these themes and spark a dialogue around how we can all embrace and celebrate our individuality through highlighting the commonalities and distinctions in how individuals envision and represent themselves.
Opening night is Friday the 18th of October from 6-10pm. Tickets are available below.
The exhibition continues on Saturday the 19th from 9am - 3pm, free of charge.
