American Music Festival is proud to bring you HOT JAZZ on the Crystal Coast, featuring Benny Hill and the Bill Stevens Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Performance is at the intimate Joslyn Hall on the campus of Carteret Community College. Chill on a hot night with some great jazz music! Cash Bar Wine/Beer will be available in the venue lobby before the show begins, and during intermission.

About Benny Hill and the Bill Stevens Jazz Ensemble:

Saxophonist Benny Hill is a professor at Cape Fear Community College, and is steeped in the tradition of many of the past jazz greats, including Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, Jackie McLean, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. His improvisations on the Alto Saxophone are reminiscent of these legends, yet he has a distinct style and voice of his own. Benny is a true crowd pleaser and never fails to produce excitement and enthusiasm on stage!

Bill Stevens is a member of the music faculty at Santa Clara University, where he directs the Musicianship and Sight-singing program and teaches Jazz Piano. Mixing elements of hard bop, the blues, and funk in his two-fisted, hard swinging style, Bill is an active jazz pianist. He has performed as a guest soloist with the Silkroad Ensemble, at New York’s Birdland with singer Hilary Kole, and with dancer Kristin Kusanovich.

Also joining Bill is jazz drummer Will Snider and jazz bassist Dillon Goodson.
