🎨 Bouguereau Master Copy Workshop: The Song of the NightingaleJoin us at the Dayton Society of Artists for a hands-on master copy workshop exploring The Song of the Nightingale by William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
In this guided session, participants will work from a reproduction of Bouguereau’s painting while breaking down composition, value, and color. Known for his highly refined technique and idealized treatment of the human figure, Bouguereau created works that balance precision with softness—something we’ll explore together through drawing or painting.
Throughout the workshop, Dayton Society of Artists Historian Kathleen Caffrey will share historical insights and context about Bouguereau, the academic tradition, and the significance of this work, adding another layer of understanding to the experience.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your technical skills or spend time studying a masterwork, this workshop offers a focused and welcoming environment to learn and create.
PLEASE BRING SKETCHBOOK AND PREFERRED MEDIUM. LIMITED SUPPLIES ARE AVAILABLE.
