Hooray for Hollywood is an action packed musical comedy tribute to the glitz, glamor and golden dreams of the silver screen. Join the ushers at Grauman's Chinese Theatre as they entertain you with the iconic music and moments of Hollywood lore. If you love everything about the movies, this high energy show will delight you!

AUDITION DATES:
Sunday, September 14 2025 at 7 p.m.

Monday, September 15, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Auditions will be at Carrollwood Players Theatre, 4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL, 33618
PRODUCTION DATES: This special production has a unique rehearsal and performance schedule. We are looking for a cast who can fully commit to the entire schedule.
Performances: There will be 5 total performances.
GALA PERFORMANCE / WORLD PREMIERE
Sunday, November 16th, 2025 at the 2025 Carrollwood Players Gala. Call time is 4 p.m. with a performance at 6 p.m.
CWP BLACK BOX ENCORE RUN
Friday, February 20th at 8 p.m. (call time 7 p.m.), Saturday, February 21st at 2 p.m. (call time 1 p.m.) AND 8 p.m. (call time 7 p.m.) and Sunday, February 22nd at 2 p.m. (call time 1 p.m.)
Performers MUST be available for all tech rehearsals and performances. There are no exceptions!

IMPORTANT: If you have SIGNIFICANT conflicts, please carefully consider whether or not you are in a position to participate in this production. We are looking for performers who are AVAILABLE and COMMITTED to this production.
Please take care to complete the conflict section of this form accurately and completely. Casting and staffing decisions and rehearsal schedules are based in part on information you provide about potential conflict dates.
Rehearsals:
The exact rehearsal schedule is to be determined, but there will be approximately 15 rehearsals between auditions and the November 16th gala performance. There will then be a break for the holidays with approximately 8 refresher rehearsals between January 1st and the black box performance dates in late February.
Rehearsals are are mostly weekday nights, but there may be rehearsals on Saturdays in the daytime and/or Sundays in the evening. Weekday evening rehearsals generally begin at 7 p.m. and can last as late as 10 p.m. Sunday evening rehearsals generally begin at 6 p.m. and can last as late as 10 p.m. Not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal. This production will require significant work on your songs OUTSIDE of rehearsals.
No experience is necessary. All roles are open. All are encouraged to audition. This is a non-paid opportunity.

Available Roles:
All roles will be singing roles. There will be some movement but no advanced choreography.
Director Jim Russell is seeking 4 high energy singers with BIG presence, spot on comedic timing and great character flexibility, aged 18 and up.
Ideally, we are seeking male presenting performers who are baritones or tenors and female presenting performers who are sopranos or mezzo sopranos. These vocal ranges are not set in stone and all voice types are encouraged audition.

What to Prepare:
Please prepare approximately one minute of a song that showcases your range and acting skills. We encourage iconic songs from the movies, but musical theatre or pop songs are also acceptable.
This show features classic early Hollywood songs, modern movie/pop crossover songs, belted ballads, and lots of comedy. There will also be cold readings of some iconic scenes from the movies.
VIDEO AUDITIONS - PLEASE NOTE: We prefer to see all auditions in person. Requests for video submissions will only be considered if we are unable to source sufficient talent from those auditioning in person. ALTERNATE AUDITION DATES: We regret we are unable to schedule any auditions outside of the planned dates.
What to expect on your audition date:
We expect a LARGE turnout for auditions, and space is LIMITED. We regret we cannot admit any guests, companions, or observers.
Auditions begin at 7 p.m. and doors will open at 6:45 p.m. IMPORTANT information is covered at the beginning of each session, therefore it is imperative that you are prepared to begin on time. No one will be admitted after 7:05 p.m.
