Join us for our annual youth basketball free throw contest, the Elks Hoop Shoot! All children aged 8-13 are invited to participate for free, prizes for the winners. Sign ups are at the event on the day of the event - no prior registration needed. A few years ago New London had a contestant progress all the way to the Region contest and got a free trip to Maine for him and his family.
Each child takes 25 free throw shots at the basket. The top winner in each ager bracket category (boys or girls 8-9, 10-11, or 12-13 years of age) progresses to the district level, state level, region level, and the national level in Chicago.
The District Contest will be held January 4th at UConn Avery Point for the first place winners of the lodge hoop shoot. The State Hoop Shoot is January 18th in Manchester, CT.
