61st Annual Frozen Fin New Year’s Day Dive

Start 2025 by attending our largest event of the year, the annual Frozen Fin New Year’s Day dive. Divers will participate in an underwater scavenger hunt to collect painted shells and trash to win great prizes from local shops and vendors. Not a diver? No problem! We like to clean up the beach, too. And everyone registered will qualify for our door prize drawings after the dive.Post dive, warm up with Pat Casey’s famous hot buttered rum and delicious refreshments provided generously by The Wheatmarket and Dennis Welch. Once everyone is in dry clothes and with warm bellies, the giveaways begin! Everyone who registers, diver or not, is eligible for our prize drawings. We are still collecting donations, and will update with prizes as they come in. Thank you to Dive On It for providing the new AL80 tank we will raffle off. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on the online store and at the event.
Parking is available on the street along the beach and at the dockominium building.
Previous year’s t-shirts will be available and very discounted: Any 3 for $5! And if you miss the preorder for the 61st anniversary shirt, a very limited number will be available day of. (It is recommended to preorder on the online store.)
Prizes in house include donations from Spicy Shark, Mystic Aquarium, Divers Alert Network, Tree Trails Adventures, Essex Stream Train & Riverboat, The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, The Hartford Yard Goats, Mystic Seaport Museum, 200Ft Viz and The Living Sharks Museum.
