Mumbai Press Club | Mumbai, MH
We humbly invite you to an interaction and felicitation programme for engineer and civic activist Chaitanya Patil, whose 29-day, 490 km on-foot inspection of the Mumbai-Goa National Highway represents a rare and rigourous form of citizen protest.
The programme is structured as follows:
1. Felicitation (4:15pm - 4:45pm)Activists and civil society representatives will felicitate Chaitanya Patil in recognition of his sustained and disciplined civic effort.
2. Closed-door interaction with activists (4:45pm - 5:30pm)A focused discussion with activists and civil society members on the broader learnings from the Rasta Satyagraha, including citizen-led documentation, engagement with institutions and avenues for follow-through.
Chaitanya’s Rasta Satyagraha was not a symbolic walk, but a methodical on-ground audit that combined field observation, GPS-tagged documentation and formal submissions to authorities. We believe this is a unique and instructive civic action, whose learnings merit wider discussion, both within the media and among activists working on issues of public infrastructure, safety and accountability.
RSVP: [email protected] or call/whastapp on +91 7045156415
As seating and arrangements for the discussion are limited, RSVP is requested, particularly for those wishing to participate in the closed-door interaction.
