Honeycombers & Palais Renaissance's Strangers & Spirits is the event you've been waiting for. Think speed dating meets social bar hop. Held across three curated stops within Palais Renaissance, each with its own cultural personality, signature pours and a light, zero-pressure icebreaker activity to get the conversation flowing.
Come solo. Come with a friend. Either way, you're leaving with new ones.
How the night works
60 guests are split into 3 groups of 20, each with a dedicated Honeycombers host. At registration, you'll receive a randomised personalised stop card revealing your first venue for the night, plus your route to the next two stops, so you always know where to head next. The groups are pre-mixed so you meet a completely fresh set of people at every single stop. By the end of the night, you'll have connected with guests across all 3 venues.
The French Affair at French Fold
At French Fold, a chic all-day dining spot known for its French crepes and galettes, sip on 2 drinks from a selection of dry or sweet cider, house wines, soft drinks or hot beverages, and nibble on ham and gruyere, fourme d'Ambert and ratatouille galette bites, plus sweet crepe rolls. Break the ice with a fun, seated game of "Oui or Non?", compare answers with your group on all things French and see who you agree or disagree with. Lighthearted, easy and the perfect warm-up.
The Izakaya Hour at Ishinomaki Grill & Sake
At Ishinomaki Grill & Sake, an unpretentious izakaya tucked away in the basement, enjoy 2 signature Japanese drinks and quality bites, alongside "Kanpai Confessions", a seated round of question cards (think: worst first dates, most impulsive decisions, rules you always break) where everyone at the table takes turns answering, cheersing with sake between rounds. Simple, low-key, and a little more revealing than your first stop. Kanpai!
The Homegrown Hideaway at PS Cafe
At PS Cafe, one of our personal favourite spots, and a proudly homegrown one too. Think lofty ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and lush greenery, plus 2 drinks (cocktail or mocktail), iconic truffle fries and chicken bites, and a round of "The Secret Shop", a quickfire true-or-twist game where your table guesses which fact about PS Cafe's homegrown Singapore history is the odd one out. Founded in 1999, PS Cafe actually began life hidden inside Project Shop, a local fashion boutique (hence the name). A low-pressure, fun way to spark those last few conversations.
Free Flow Mingling (from 9.30pm) All 60 guests can mingle freely, return to your favourite stop, swap numbers with someone who caught your eye, or order another round at your own expense. The event officially wraps at 9.30pm, but nobody's rushing you out.
