Homeschool SPEAK UP Spring 2025

Are you ready to challenge yourself and grow as a leader? This SPEAK UP event for high school age homeschool students is designed to push you outside your comfort zone and give you real-world experience speaking in front of a crowd. This event helps you build confidence, think on your feet, and prepare for future opportunities—whether that’s interviewing for a job, communicating with peers or supervisors, leading a team, running a meeting or anything in between. It’s not just about public speaking; it’s about stepping up, overcoming challenges, and becoming someone who isn’t afraid to take the lead. Join us, face the challenge, and discover what you’re capable of!

What to Expect:

• Participants will draw a random topic from a hat.
• They will give a 60-second impromptu speech on the chosen topic.
• Topics are generalized to ensure fairness. Example topic: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?
• Each participate will receive constructive feedback from the audience and facilitators right after their speech.
• Process helps improve speaking techniques and boost confidence.
• Speeches are given in front of peers in a safe, judgment-free, and supportive environment.
