Homemade Salsas

We’ll create a variety of homemade salsas completely from scratch using family-style home recipes! Together we’ll explore different flavors, colors, and techniques — from fresh green salsa to rich roasted red salsa.

In this class, you’ll learn several traditional and creative methods for making salsa, including:

• Raw salsa
• Broiled salsa
• Boiled salsa
• Pan-roasted salsa

We’ll also use a mortar and pestle to experience the classic way of blending ingredients and building flavor by hand.

This class is perfect for beginners or anyone who loves fresh homemade food. I’m not a professional chef — just someone passionate about sharing what I’ve learned and the recipes I enjoy making at home.

From Oscar Ruiz: I’m 34 years old, an Army veteran, and currently in college studying to become a welder. Cooking has always been a big part of my life, and I especially love making Mexican dishes. I’m constantly in the kitchen, experimenting, learning new methods, and trying out new recipes. Teaching this class gives me the chance to share that passion and hopefully inspire others to explore and enjoy cooking as much as I do.
