Holotropic Breathwork workshop in Stavanger

As summer draws to a close, we gather once again in the circle.
We are delighted to invite you to a transformative weekend of Holotropic Breathwork.
The transition between seasons offers a natural opportunity to pause before returning to the rhythm of work and everyday life. Together, we'll create space to reconnect with ourselves, reflect on where we are, and enter the months ahead with greater clarity, presence, and intention.
Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method of self-exploration and healing that allows us to access the deeper layers of the psyche. Through deep, conscious breathing, evocative music, and a safe, supportive environment, you will be guided into expanded states of consciousness where the psyche's own innate healing intelligence can unfold.
Rather than directing the experience, we trust that each person has an inner wisdom that knows what is ready to emerge. Whether you are seeking healing, clarity, creativity, self-understanding, or simply a deeper connection with yourself, this work meets you where you are.
Each journey is unique and may offer opportunities to process unresolved experiences, soften limiting patterns, reconnect with your vitality, and discover new perspectives on your life.
We warmly welcome both those attending for the first time and those returning to deepen their practice.
We look forward to sharing this weekend with you.

This Workshop is facilitated by Mara Sola & Guro Ellingsen
Mara Sola
Mara is the founder of Holotropic Breathwork Skandinavia. Originally from Spain, Mara has been living and working in Norway since 2012. She discovered Holotropic Breathwork and Transpersonal Psychology in 2015. Since then she has been interested in expanded states of consciousness, which have been a big part of her inner healing and understanding of her psyche.
In 2018, Mara completed the Grof Transpersonal Training. She has trained and participated in HB workshops in many countries in Europe. Mara is a globetrotter by heart and a visual artist in her everyday life. She perceives her growing transformation as the result of a long term commitment and dedicated time to self-cultivation in the quest of being.
Mara also offers 1:1 HB sessions and personal consultations.
Guro Ellingsen
Guro is a certified Holotropic Breathwork® and Trance Movement™ Facilitator whose work is rooted in a deep curiosity about our capacity for healing, growth, and transformation. Shaped by years of personal practice, self-inquiry, and lived experience, she creates safe, compassionate, and well-held spaces where people can explore non-ordinary states of consciousness with curiosity and trust. She believes that when we are met with presence, respect, and the freedom to follow our own inner process, healing and transformation can unfold naturally.
In addition to facilitating workshops, Guro offers one-to-one Holotropic Breathwork sessions and personal consultations. For more information, please contact [email protected].
Are you new to Holotropic Breathwork®?
Holotropic Breathwork® is one of the world's most established methods of self-exploration through expanded states of consciousness. Developed by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof and his late wife Christina Grof in the 1970s, the method emerged from decades of pioneering research into the healing potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness and continues to be practiced around the world.
At the heart of Holotropic Breathwork lies a profound trust in the psyche's innate capacity for healing and transformation. Rather than directing or analysing your experience, the method creates the conditions for your own inner healing intelligence to guide the process, allowing each journey to unfold naturally and uniquely.
What makes Holotropic Breathwork distinctive is not simply the breathing itself, but the carefully developed framework that surrounds it. The relationship between breather and sitter, carefully curated music, skilled facilitation, focused bodywork when appropriate, creative expression through mandala work, and dedicated time for integration all form essential parts of the practice.
Over the past five decades, Holotropic Breathwork has been carried forward by an international community of practitioners through Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT). While remaining true to the principles established by Stanislav and Christina Grof, the practice has continued to mature through decades of collective experience, with ongoing refinement of facilitation, ethics, safety, and integration.
Certified Holotropic Breathwork facilitators complete a comprehensive training process that typically unfolds over several years. Alongside theoretical study, the training places a strong emphasis on personal experience, mentorship, supervised practice, and the development of the presence, discernment, and practical skills required to safely support others through profound inner experiences.
The emphasis on preparation, facilitation, and integration is why Holotropic Breathwork is offered as a full-day or weekend workshop rather than a single breathing session. The breathing experience is only one part of the process. Equal importance is given to creating a safe and supportive container in which meaningful inner work can unfold and become integrated into everyday life.
People come to Holotropic Breathwork for many different reasons. Some are navigating grief, loss, burnout, anxiety, major life transitions, or the effects of overwhelming life experiences. Others are seeking personal growth, greater creativity, spiritual exploration, deeper self-understanding, or a stronger sense of meaning and connection. Every journey is unique, and there is no expectation of what your experience should be. The process is guided not by the facilitator, but by your own inner healing intelligence.
No previous experience is necessary. Whatever brings you to this work, you will be welcomed into a compassionate, confidential, and carefully held space where your own inner wisdom can lead the way.
