Build your own telegraph and communicate in secret, just like World War Two codebreakers.
About this Event

In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to Magnetronics, a specially designed electronics learning kit that demystifies circuits. Starting with the fundamentals of electricity, they will explore how components such as bulbs, LEDs, buzzers and switches work, before progressing to build series and parallel circuits and discovering the principles of control engineering.
Working their way through a series of progressive challenges, participants will build their confidence and understanding with every step, learning how electrical signals can carry information, the same principle that has connected people across the world for centuries.
In teams they will then put their new skills to the test and build a working telegraph to transmit secret messages in Morse code, racing against the clock to crack each other's coded communications. Just like the codebreakers of Bletchley Park, they will need sharp thinking, teamwork and a solid understanding of the technology to succeed.

For children who have just completed Years 3 or 4 this term - please book based on your child’s current/most recent school year, not their new year group from September. This typically corresponds to children aged around 7–9 years old. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in the correct year group.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
